brighter AI Webinar Series – Setting the Standard #2
Lessons from Industry: How Data Privacy Can Steer the Future of Autonomous DrivingWednesday, 24 August 14:00 – 14:45 (CET)
Nearly a century ago, inventor Francis Houdina unveiled a radio-controlled car that drove through the streets of Manhattan without anyone at the steering wheel. The radio was able to start its own engine, shift gears, and sound its horn. This car offered a glimpse into the future. However, the ride was cut short after the operator lost control twice during the ride and crashed into another vehicle. Despite this early mishap in 1925, the industry did not give up hope on remote-controlled cars.
Today, we’re not quite able to let go of the steering wheel just yet, but there are exciting developments in the field. Join us to hear from Robin van der Made from Siemens Digital Industries on how his team at Siemens are using anonymized data models to create digital twins to develop autonomous vehicle platforms.
Next, we will hear from Sebastian Meißner from the EuroPriSe Certification Authority on how the autonomous driving industry can only be successful if it integrates privacy enhancing technologies (“privacy tech”) from the beginning. He will give a brief overview of the history of privacy tech. He will also share a recent example, how brighter AI recently received a EuroPriSe Certificate for their Deep Natural Anonymization (DNAT) technology and how this signifies that IT products should protect consumers’ rights.
From this webinar you will learn:
- Case studies from Siemens Digital Technologies on how they are integrating GDPR compliance in their product offering
- How EuroPriSe is aiming to create standards for IT products and services in the GDPR framework
- How to engage with stakeholders to ensure privacy is an enabler to innovation in IT
